Bird Watching in Te Anau - Fiordland

For the Birders
I have always had an interest in the wildlife around me, wherever we have lived in New Zealand. Here in Te Anau, beside Fiordland National Park, there is a very big selection of our native and introduced birds. Living at Blue Thistle Cottages we have most of these birds around us.  All the photos in the photo gallery below have been taken by Peter from our property, except for the Kea and the Teal duck.
Gray Warbler and the Rifleman are NZ`s smallest birds, both nest in the trees in front of the cottages.
If you are a `birder` or just want to sit for awhile ( looking at the view with a coffee or wine ) I`m sure your will enjoy the birds going about their daily duties.
I would be happy to help you to name a few.
